THREE THINGS WE LOVE: Glowing Boots, Fantastic Fireworks, and Ice Cream

things we’re thinkin’ and dreamin’ hard about here at V1...

Summer events are ramping back up, and with it comes a slew of things to be positive about. Here's a few things we've been thinking about here at Volume One...

1. Glowing Boots?!

These boots we spotted at Country Fest his past June are an out-of-this-world level of cool. Are they glowing? Radioactive? On fire? Glow-in-the-dark? Wrapped in holiday lights like it’s December? I mean, we all knew music festivals coming back to the Valley was a bright spot in our summer event schedules, but no one said it had to literally glow.

2. Freedom

Happy Fourth of July! We’re excited to see those fantastic fireworks light up Carson Park. But hey, if you’re going to be shooting off some of those dazzling displays in your backyard, be sure to be thoughtful of your neighbors: Remember that young kids have early bedtimes, and veterans and others who have PTSD may not appreciate those loud KABOOMS!

3. Ice Cream

Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? We’ve had it on our calendars all year.  There’s no shortage of ice cream shops in the Chippewa Valley to fix you up with a refreshing scoop of ice cream, like this delectable serving from 44 Below in Altoona. Ice cream not your thing? 44 Below now serves snow cones, too!
