Less than two months before one of the Valley’s signature music festivals plugs in the amps for the first time in two years, Rock Fest has announced some big lineup changes.

Among the biggest is the replacement of Snoop Dogg – who was also scheduled to perform at last year’s COVID-canceled Rock Fest – with Corey Taylor, best known as the frontman for metal superstars Slipknot. Snoop reportedly has canceled all of his 2021 tour dates, and Taylor came in clutch (and just a couple of days before Slipknot kicks off a world tour with a show in Moscow). Taylor and Limp Bizkit will top the bill on Friday, July 16, at the fest grounds outside Cadott. They’re joined in that day’s lineup by Philip H. Anselmo (frontman for the late, great Pantera) and his band, The Illegals.

The fest will kick off with a special “Bonus Bash” on Wednesday, July 14, helmed by Queensryche. Rock Fest favorite Rob Zombie will headline on Thursday, July 15, with Staind and Anthrax (who were originally slated for Friday night), while the fest will close out on Saturday, July 17, with Korn and Danzig.

Rock Fest promoter Wade Asher had this to say about the lineup shifts:

“Hey Rockers! We knew that being the first large Rock Festival in the Nation to return in 2021 was going to be five times the work compared to any other year. BUT my team and I also know that there is nothing more important than giving our fans live music as soon as possible. The beat of that kick drum off your chest when you are up again the rail is so needed right now! Our industry continues to be affected by so much damage done this past year – once again rearing its ugly head with border closures & tour cancelations. Rest assured that we will never give up on getting you, our fans, back to Your Second Home in July !! That said, there are some changes to our 2021 lineup. HUGE shoutout to Corey Taylor, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Pop Evil, Tommy Vext, and Bad Omens for stepping in and stepping up! Come hell or high water WE WILL see you ‘Where We Just Rock!!’ in 53 glorious f@#&ing days!!” –Wade, Rock Fest promoter
