Two local farmers were recently recognized for their efforts in rural Wisconsin: Rachel Henderson, owner of Mary Dirty Face Farm, a 12-acre, certified-organic mixed-berry farm in Dunn County; and Aaron Ellringer, owner of Kubb Farm, a small farm outside of Eau Claire.

These fabulous farmers were acknowledged at the 90th annual Wisconsin Farmers Union State Convention for their leadership and dedication to help WFU grow. Henderson was awarded the The Builders Award for her active involvement in the Farmers Union and her “blooming” leadership qualities. She has participated in many WFU events and taken part in their Emerging Leaders Retreat. Ellringer was presented with the Emerging Leader Award for his “fruitful” efforts in planning WFU events and member recruitment. Ellringer lives in Eau Claire and works for the Pablo Group, helping to develop the Pablo Food Hub.
