It's hard to go wrong with a genuine Lenten fish fry (or fish boil, if you prefer!) served up from a genuine Wisconsin church. Here are three to put on your culinary calendar:


St. Olaf’s Men’s Club Fish Fry

Mar 5 & 19, Apr. 9 & 23, 4-7pm • St Olaf Catholic Church Parish Center, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire  • $10

Beer-battered or fried Alaskan Pollock with baked potato or fries, cole slaw and condiments; enter from Monroe Street.


St. Raymond Knight’s of Columbus Fish Fry

Fridays in March, 4-6pm • St. Raymond of Penafort Church, E10455 Mallard Road, Fall Creek • $10

Served drive-thru only. Famous Fish Fry Menu includes: Deep Fried Cod Loins, French Fries, Bush’s Beans, Cole Slaw, Homemade Bread Pudding, Milk or Water.


Immaculate Conception Parish Fish Boil

Feb. 26 & Mar. 26, 4:30-6:30pm • Immaculate Conception Church, 1712 Highland Ave., Eau Claire • $11

Menu includes Alaskan Pollock, red potatoes, carrots, onions, cole slaw, dinner roll, and mac & cheese. Extra mac & cheese for $1. No need to leave your car.
