About 50 talented teen artists from five Chippewa Valley high schools will debut their artistic works at an annual high school student art exhibit at The Pablo Center at the Confluence.

The theme of this year’s exhibit is “Everything You Can Imagine Is Real.” It is viewable virtually from Jan. 29 through April 25 on the Pablo Center’s website (pablocenter.org) and social media (@PabloCenter).

“This exhibit is a great opportunity to showcase area students’ artwork, highlight our region’s high school art programming to local art enthusiasts, and demonstrate the results of the Chippewa Valley’s art teachers: their passions, planning, and teaching throughout the school year,” said Rose Dolan-Neill, the Pablo Center’s visual and literary arts manager.

Four area high schools and their respective art teachers will participate in the exhibit, with more expected to join shortly after the beginning of the new year, including Altoona High School (Kim Youngberg), Augusta High School (Karen Clark), Eau Claire North High School (Stephanie Kempe), and Mondovi High School (Norene Schreiner).

Karen Clark, art teacher at Augusta High School, shared that having her students’ work on display at the Pablo Center is wonderful.

“Three years ago, we built a slat wall display area in the cafeteria at our high school and started making frames to display student work in rotating displays,” she said. “The look on their faces when you show them (their) work matted and framed is priceless. They love seeing it there. But the Pablo is a real, professional space where many other people will see their work.”
