Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire Ranked Among State’s Best Hospitals

Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire has been ranked the No. 6 hospital in Wisconsin and the top regional hospital in northwestern Wisconsin by U.S. News and World Report in the magazine’s annual health care rankings.
“We are honored to receive this recognition of the great care our staff provides to our patients every day,” said Richard Helmers, the regional vice president of Mayo Clinic Health System in the Northwest Wisconsin Region.
Mayo Clinic Health System also was ranked as “high performing” for these adult procedures and conditions: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, colon cancer surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, and knee replacement.
HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire also ranked No. 13 in Wisconsin, and OakLeaf Surgical Hospital in Altoona ranked as “high performing” for knee replacements.
The U.S. News and World Report hospital rankings use a methodology that looks several factors: “medical outcomes such as survival; patient experience, nurse staffing and more. ... Hospitals are also ranked regionally within states and major metro areas so you can find the best hospital near you.”
