Earlier this year, Wilson Creek Inn in Menomonie had plans to serve up great eats to the community before the pandemic hit. But, after a slight delay, this new supper club is now open and ready for business.

The thought of Wilson Creek Inn, 932 N. Broadway, should bring warm thoughts of old-fashioned Friday fish fries and prime rib Saturdays. The owners, Jim Maguire and Kim Spizale, initially weren’t looking to get into the food industry, but noticed a need for a more upscale dining experience.

“Menomonie has a lot of sandwiches, burgers, college scenes, etc.,” Maguire said. “We believed that Menomonie needed a different dining experience that was geared a little more towards an upscale audience.”

The two take pride in using cast iron skillets for most dishes to produce a flavorful experience, and thus receive lots of local rave for their ribeye and fillets. The scallops and unique pasta dishes seem to be gaining some traction in popularity as well – not to mention that the woodwork and dining scene are unmatched. Maguire and Spizale wanted to show off the original restaurant’s look, so instead of a complete remodeling, they decided a little rejuvenation was all the club needed. (The building formerly housed Skoog’s Parkside.) On your next night out, be sure add this unique eatery in your plans. The Wilson Creek Inn is perfect for those nights you’re wanting a formal dining experience but don’t want to stray too far from home.
