Ben Shaw and His '55 Dodge Pickup Hit the Road in New Video

Eric Christenson |

In a brand-new music video, songwriter Ben Shaw is packing up his 1955 Dodge pickup truck and leaving this old town in his dust. “Get The Hell Outta Here” is the closing track to Shaw’s 2018 record Bonita, and the song was co-written by local film whiz Tony Wayne, who directed the video as well. The video, which dropped on July 9 – nearly two years after the record was released – finds Shaw all but moping around some familiar haunts in the Valley. The Joynt turns away his request to perform, he grabs a whiskey at Clancy’s, strolls through Phoenix Park, strums away to an empty room at The Venue, quarrels with a partner, and speeds off down open country roads. Shaw, who relocated to Los Angeles a few years back, habitually makes his way back to Eau Claire to play some shows every now and then, and his creative bubble of collaborators and friends help him put together some great musical and visual projects. Bonita was recorded at Pine Hollow Studio with the help of some serious Eau Claire players like Adam Harder Nussbaum, Eric “Pedals” Thompson, Paul Brandt, Ben Lester, Evan Middlesworth, and Michael Perry.
