Dr. Julie Beston, an assistant professor of biology at UW-Stout, will present  “Mammals of Dunn County” at 2pm on Sunday, Aug. 9, as the fifth in a summer series of online Zoom presentations hosted by the Dunn County Historical Society. “Dunn County is located in what’s called a ‘tension zone,’ ” said Dr. Beston in a brief sneak-peek interview, “which offers residents a huge variety of mammals living between a mixed forest and a coniferous forest.” A wildlife enthusiast, Dr. Beston will bring alive creatures large and small via menagerie of animal photographs – ranging from the usual rabbits, raccoons, and squirrels to fishers, foxes, possums, and more.
