The Eau Claire Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department is kickstarting a new Adopt-a-Park program to build community pride by promoting stewardship of the city’s parks, trails, gardens, and green spaces. Organizations and individuals can get involved by committing to two years of volunteer service for basic upkeep and cleaning of their favorite park. Four parks already have been adopted: Curt Manufacturing Group adopted Owen Park and the bike trail to Hobbs Ice Arena; Jamf and the Young Professionals of Eau Claire adopted Phoenix Park and neighboring gardens and trails; Shawtown Neighborhood Association adopted their neighborhood park; and resident Cindy Schlosser adopted Braun’s Bay on Half Moon Lake. Learn more about this program and how to get involved by emailing recvolunteers@eauclairewi.gov or heading to eauclairewi.gov/recreation/volunteer-opportunities.
