Heyde Center Plans Summer Concert Series
One of the many things missing during the COVID-19 pandemic has been live performances. With many of the restrictions lifted and larger gatherings now allowed by public health officials, the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls is taking advantage of the opportunity by providing a “House Concert Series,” which will feature 90-minute performances from local artists right inside the Heyde Center! The series kicks off Tuesday, June 23, with Nick Anderson and the Skinny Lovers. The concerts will be held on Tuesday nights, with a rotating food truck available from 5-7 pm and music from 6-7:30pm. Admission is free, with freewill donations accepted to support the performers. Some of the other artists performing include: CollECtive Choir, Matt Boelter, Ramblin’ Lou Carver, Jonah Leske, Parker Reed & the Lucid Dreamers, and more! They will be following protocol for COVID-19 with social distancing between tables, touchless temperature checks, and mandatory face masks. Executive Director Debra Johnson says, “Our entire community is struggling – and this is a way to provide an opportunity to enjoy the arts and support musicians, food trucks, community members, and the Heyde Center as we start the process of negotiating our way back to a new normal in the safest way possible.” For the full schedule of performers and food trucks visit the Heyde Center’s website.
