“Long Haired Figure” by Lynn Hobart
acrylic, pen, and pencil, 18” x 24”

Lynn Hobart was born and raised in Milwaukee. She received a BFA from UW-Milwaukee with a concentration in painting and drawing. Her career was spent teaching art in La Crosse.

“Long-Haired Figure is one of a group of paintings and drawings that feature a simplified approach to content, composition and technique.  Many are loosely based on photos of friends, family and strangers.  These people have generously allowed me to use their image for inspiration.  Significantly, I belong to a very supportive group of women artists who have influenced and encouraged me.  We are well into our 60’s and 70’s and continue to be challenged and fascinated by the process of making art.” – The Artist

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
