Jerrika Mighelle

Songwriter Jerrika Mighelle has been makin’ tunes in the Valley for many, many years now – first with her sisters in the folk group QuinnElizabeth, and now solo with her own strikingly beautiful folk songs. Jerrika also hosts Tunes From The Womb, a Converge Radio show that airs Thursdays at 5pm and features songs and stories from women, non-binary, and LGBTQ artists. It’s that spirit that she’ll be bringing to her own show at the Jamf Theatre in the Pablo Center on Feb. 21 for the next installment of the Driftless concert series.

For this very special show, Jerrika will be joined by The Nunnery – the looping vocal project of Eau Claire native Sarah James – and Hemma – stark and beautiful folk/country from another local native Hannah Hebl. “Supporting women, non-binary, and queer artists has been important to me my entire artistic life so I am very excited and grateful to bring these artists to such a great stage,” Jerrika says. “I also strongly believe that The Nunnery and Hemma’s musical careers are about to skyrocket ... cause they are crazy good!”

That’s not all of it though: Local writer Sarah Jayne Johnson will tell a short story and host, and Emily Emerson will perform a dance to one of Jerrika’s songs. This show not only features three of Valley’s best musical artists, but brings together all kinds of femme-fronted art in exciting and collaborative ways, so don’t miss it!
