It’s Game Over, Man

UWEC's annual cabaret has a gaming theme

UW-Eau Claire has hosted Cabaret, a huge showcase of campus musical talent, annually since 1978. Each year features a different theme, but it’s always an outstanding production that represents what students have learned in not only singing but also musical theater and stagecraft throughout the year. The Saturday evening shows at 5:30pm also feature a dinner served for guests. This year’s theme, “Game Over,” is upbeat and energetic. It uses singing, dancing, and short theatrical scenes to tell the story of Sam, Erin, and Ashley. The Game Master sends these three teens into the “gamer-verse” to teach them how to work together. Will they be able to defeat the final boss and make it back to the real world? Check out UWEC’s “Cabaret: Game Over” to find out!

UWEC Cabaret: Game Over. Ojibwe Ballroom, UWEC Davies Center: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, Jan. 30-Feb. 8. 7:30pm all nights, 2pm matinee on Saturdays, 5:30pm dinner show on Saturdays: $22/ticket.
