Nishant Jain is a writer-artist from Kolkata (India). He draws Sneaky Art of people around him, finding accidental beauty in everyday life. He likes listening to jazz and thinking too much.
Sneaky Art is the practice of drawing beauty from the world around you, without drawing attention. In this piece, Nishant has pulled together various figures and scenes drawn at Phoenix Park over the course of summer 2019. Drawings were made during the Farmers Market and Sounds Like Summer concerts. Such events highlight the season in Eau Claire and bring the community together. Here we see people talking, making friends, taking walks, taking photos, playing music, playing games, carrying groceries, carrying kids, arguing, laughing, or sometimes ... just sitting silently, in a brief moment of stillness. None of the subjects are informed about being drawn - before or after. It’s very sneaky.
