Mayo Tops Regional Hospital Rankings

Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire was ranked the No. 4 best hospital in Wisconsin and the best regional hospital in northwestern Wisconsin in the latest edition of the Best Hospitals Guidebook, which is produced annually by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings, published July 30, also named Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as the No. 1 hospital in the United States. Mayo Clinic in Rochester had received the same ranking last year, while the Eau Claire hospital was in a three-way tie for No. 5 statewide in 2018. “We are thrilled to see our team’s great work being recognized,” says Richard Helmers, M.D., regional vice president, Northwest Wisconsin Region, Mayo Clinic Health System. “This recognition is a tangible milestone of the incredible work we see every day of the year. We are serving the needs of more patients today than ever before, providing hope, healing, and the most advanced care available in Northwest Wisconsin.” Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire also was nationally ranked as “high-performing” in the specialty of gastroenterology and gastroenterologic surgery and rated “high-performing” for eight other adult procedures and conditions. Meanwhile, U.S. News rated HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital as high-performing in two adult conditions (COPD and heart failure) and Oakleaf Hospital in Altoona as high-performing in knee replacement.
