There’s a new nonprofit in town that combines Wisconsinites’ love for craft beer with a sense of empowerment for women throughout the community. Girls Pint Out welcomes women in the area to join forces to not only meet like-minded women, but also to work towards a larger cause. This nonprofit started in Indianapolis in 2010. It has since grown into over 100 chapters across the United States. Girls Pint Out’s mission is to build a community of women who love craft beer and who are an active, contributing part of the greater craft beer community. The Chippewa/Eau Claire area’s chapter head is Elizabeth Leis. She says she was drawn to the group because of her love of craft beer and the thought of bringing together women for a good cause. She encourages local women who have similar interests or just want to try something new to join her for a pint. There are no fees or applications, so potential members are encouraged to show up with an open mind and a thirst for delicious, local craft beer! Events are social, educational, and charitable and have been held at Modicum, The Firehouse, and The Lakely. Future events include gatherings at new breweries, new beer release parties, and a collaboration with a local brewery to create a new beer together.
