The Valley’s premier literary journal Barstow & Grand is currently accepting submissions for its third issue through April 30, 2019. Barstow & Grand is published by the Chippewa Valley Writer’s Guild on an annual basis in the Fall and features works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and hybrid text genres from authors with a connection to the Chippewa Valley. Barstow & Grand will accept up to two submissions by each writer for each issue of prose work, including fiction, non-fiction, and anything else, up to 4,000 words. Barstow & Grand will also accept submissions of 3-5 poems in one document. Submissions must include a 100-word statement outlining the writer’s connection to the Chippewa Valley and a biography in the third person to be published with the submission if chosen. A three-dollar submission fee is due with all submissions unless an issue is purchased with the submission, or the submission is made during the free submission weekend, which will take place during the fourth weekend of March.
