Downtown Menomonie Inc. will host the 15th annual Winterdaze Parade Dec. 16. It all starts at 4pm with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will provide a photo opportunity for families. Small farm animals will be on-site for kids to meet, and horse drawn carriage rides will be available until the main event. The parade starts at 6:30pm, when the train of organizations decked out in their holiday best begins winding its way from Fourth Street to Main Street on Broadway. The parade is expected to last 45 minutes to an hour, and will be followed immediately by a grand display of fireworks over Lake Menomin. “Winterdaze is probably the biggest event we have in Downtown we have every single year,” Dustin Dubuque, executive director of Downtown Menomonie Inc. said in a WEAU interview on Dec. 5. This year’s theme will be “Up North Christmas, Eh?” and the organizers will award prizes to floats for Best Illumination, Most Creative, Best Animal, Best Theme, and more.
