The UW-Eau Claire student publication None of the Above (NOTA) will host bi-annual book release party at SHIFT Cyclery & Coffee Bar on Dec. 14 at 7:30pm, with live music from local musician, Westkorea. Founded in 1972, NOTA is a professional student-run art, literature and music publication. Traditionally, the publication is released at the last of a semester-long series of open mics where students are offered the opportunity to share their literature with a live audience. In between the soothing words of short stories, prose and poetry, a local musician or band decompresses the audience with their musical abilities. The open mic series finale debuts the book release of student work with free publications, pins, stickers and bookmarks that feature student-made designs. Enjoy some of SHIFT’s local brew as your eyes wander over the pages of NOTA’s 2018 Fall Semester student publication. The open mic will be available to the public as the NOTA team passes out free bookmarks, stickers and pins at the semester book release party.
