“Sunflower” by Kathy Schmiedeskamp
Kathy Schmiedeskamp lives in Chippewa Falls, and is the Director of Operations at Mayo Clinic Health System’s Home Health & Hospice in Eau Claire. Kathy enjoys a wide variety of hobbies – from watercolors, quilting, gardening and photography.
“In the last year I have been focusing on my photography. I have discovered art in ephemeral botanicals. I can spend hours looking at the colors and patterns on the leaves and flowers. Each one is a work of art. My husband and I have recently joined the Chippewa Valley Photo Club - and that has been a great community to learn and share ideas. I have been inspired to challenge myself to look beyond the traditional flower photo. Each change of the season brings new ideas. And digital photography has endless possibilities that allows me to keep creating long after the bloom. As Ansel Adams once said; you don’t take a photograph, you make it.” – The Artist
