Share your Midwestern creativity and become a part of the largest university-produced film festival in the nation!From cheese curd documentaries to recreations of That ’70s Show, the Wisconsin Film Festival is interested in any and all Wisconsin-based films.

The Wisconsin Film Festival has celebrated the local lives of Wisconsinites by screening more than 150 locally-made films over the course of eight days for 25 years. The 2018 Wisconsin Film Festival will take place April 5-12 at five different venues around Madison.

The submissions are split into two eligible categories: Wisconsin’s Own and Wisconsin’s Own Student. Films must be shot in a Wisconsin location or created by an artist either born in Wisconsin, a former resident of Wisconsin (for at least one year), or a current student at a Wisconsin school.

The Wisconsin Film Festival is accepting narrative, animated, documentary or experimental work of any length, or budget, made after Jan. 1, 2018.

Submissions are accepted through a platform called FilmFreeway until the end of the business day on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018.

Do your wallet a favor by submitting your feature film (60 minutes or more) or short film (less than 60 minutes) by Dec. 1; short films costing $35 ($45 after Dec. 1), and feature films costing $45 ($55 after Dec. 1). Student films can be any length and are to be submitted with a $15 fee (valid student ID or photocopy required).
