Red Coal BBQ on the Move

V1 Staff |

Jon Ray and Brian Moskiewicz, the owners of Red Coal BBQ, are making a big move this fall as they open a dining location for their food joint in the old Taverna Grill building. They bought the space from the Palzkill family, who also owns Draganetti’s Ristorante and Za 51, this summer. “The reason for the move is relatively simple,” Ray said. “We find it important for the growth of our business to be able to embrace the culture of Wisconsin, as opposed to only offering take-out food.” The new location will feature indoor seating and service and offer beer and wine, while takeout will still be available if you need to grab and go. “It’s a privilege to be able to sell this business to them so they can further grow their concept,” Joanne Palzkill said of the sale. The new Red Coal BBQ restaurant is slated to open early September or late October.
