New Eatery Brings Indian Cuisine Back to Valley

Eau Claire is full of foodies and plenty of eclectic, locally owned restaurants to satisfy many – but not all – of them: The city is lacking when it comes to Indian cuisine. Until recently! A new Indian restaurant, Mango Indian, opened its doors June 29 in Oakwood Mall. Seroz Mohiuddin, general manager of the eatery, has a lot of experience making authentic Indian cuisine. “I was cooking at home – I used to take samples to a lot of people, like friends and their families and their colleagues,” Mohiuddin said. “They liked it and they suggested me to open (an Indian restaurant).” Mango Indian’s menu highlights many popular Indian dishes, such as chicken curry, chicken masala, and chicken biryani. The restaurant also has dessert options, such as mango or strawberry lassi. The menu changes daily, and the food is always be made fresh, including their chicken and yogurt, Mohiuddin said. His goal with the restaurant is to serve real Indian food to the Eau Claire community. He said their prices are low, with entrees costing as little as $4.99. This price will include the entree, rice, and naan.
