“Somewhere on a Farm” by Derek J. Carlson
Oil on canvas, 16” x 20”

Derek J. Carlson is an artist, teacher, and an aficionado of history. His passion for art and creating has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember. While he works in a variety of mediums, oil on canvas remains his favorite.

"The painting entitled “Somewhere on a Farm” is part of a series consisting of vintage pick-up trucks set in idyllic backdrops. This series is devoted to the shape, line, and contour of these beautiful machines and how they have survived, so far, the test of time. Far from being perfect, these vehicles have dents and dings and rust spots here and there, providing evidence of a long and hard life. While they may not be here forever, their essence and tranquility is captured on canvas. Visit www.djcarlson.weebly.com to view other paintings from this series and other works by Derek J. Carlson. Commission work is always welcome and prints are available." – The Artist
