Writer’s Guild Announces Summer Retreat Line-Up
Whether you’re an aspiring writer or a published author, a writer’s retreat this summer is just the thing to help you hone your craft and take your skills to the next level. Between June and August, the Chippewa Valley Writer’s Guild will offer five unique multi-day retreats at Cirenaica, an idyllic cabin just south of Fall Creek.
The retreats available this summer include: the role and limits of memory in poetry with Wisconsin Poet Laureate Karla Huston; writing great beginnings to your short story or novel with Nickolas Butler; how to cross genres mindfully with Holly Hughes; how to build tension and suspense in your writing with Lindsay Starck; and a deeper examination into the writing process across all genres with Michael Martone.
Each retreat also features a special guest such as a journal editor or an esteemed poet or writer. Forage and the Brewing Projekt will provide food and drink for all participants. Local writers may choose to stay at Cirenaica or commute from home. And, for the first time this year, scholarships are available!
