UW-Stout Student Has Design for the Heart
Two-thousand silver safety pins clung to the dark gown, 600 of which carried red ribbons to represent the number of women who are diagnosed with heart disease every day in the United States. The design, by UW-Stout senior Carly Troudt, won third place at the the Boston Scientific Hearts for Fashion Show in February at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The show featured work by 24 students from five colleges in the region. Inspired by her mother, Troudt has known she wanted to work in fashion design since third grade. She intends to start her own design company someday and to be her own boss.
