An explosion of talent is about to take place courtesy of downtown Eau Claire’s Offbeats Violin and Guitar. Grammy Award-nominated musician Laurie Lewis will grace us with her beautiful voice and fiddling talents on March 18. Falling in love with folk music at the Berkeley Folk Festival changed Laurie’s life forever. Then, when the day came that she recorded her first songs, performing made her feel alive. Since these significant moments, she has recorded more than 20 albums and greatly expanded her music career. Laurie is now an internationally known singer, songwriter, fiddler, bandleader, producer and educator. In fact, she’ll be hosting a fiddle workshop with Brandon Godman (another superbly talented fiddler) prior to the concert from 2-3pm. So, if fiddling is your thing, you better reserve your spot quickly, as space is very limited. Offbeats’ owners will be opening the show at 6:30pm with their four- to five-piece honky tonk/bluegrass outfit, The John & Rose Band. Looking to reserve your spot at this very special show and/or workshop? All you have to do is visit offbeatsviolin.com and click “Shop.” Tickets to the concert are $15, while the workshop is $20.
