“2050” by Daniella Painter
digital painting • 17” x 22” • 2016

Daniella Painter graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting and psychology. Influenced social prejudices, Daniella uses observational study, thin layers, and line variation to play with realistic and idealized perceptions.

"‘2050’ was inspired by an article on pollution levels in the ocean. One researcher estimates that by 2050 there will be just as much garbage in the sea as there are fish. The calming colors create an oblivion in which the viewer and fishermen can live, while overlooking what lies just beneath the surface." – The Artist

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
