“Frosty Icicle” by Angie Linneman
digital photograph

Angie Linneman believes coffee truly does save lives and wishes mornings began at noon.

"This piece was taken at the Devil’s Punch Bowl near Menomonie. I love all the detail in the photo and the variations in light and color. What I find most fascinating is how the photo captured the delicate make-up and the separateness of the frost on the larger icicle. the delicateness of the frost is in huge contrast to the hard edges of the rock behind it. Growing up on a farm in central Wisconsin gave me an enduring love of nature and the environment around me. I enjoy taking close-ups of nature, drawing attention to the artistic beauty that resides there. In addition to photographing nature, I also love to photograph the decaying remnants of Wisconsin’s farm history that exist in fields and on the edges of ever-growing communities. I feel bit of nostalgia and sadness regarding the loss of much of our farms and I attempt to capture that feeling in my work." – The Artist
