ArtsWest 39 Accepting Entries for Juried Show

Emily Kinzel |

Local artists, meet your springtime ally: Eau Claire welcomes the 39th annual Wisconsin ArtsWest exhibit Feb 25-April 6. Hosted and sponsored by the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, ArtsWest is inviting locals to participate in a little friendly competition.

Working artists and students 18 years of age or older can showcase their artistic aptitude and earn a good chunk of change: The “Best of Show” title includes a $300 cash prize! Artists are also allowed to sell entries to interested buyers. ArtsWest welcomes any medium, ranging from prints to woodcuts to paintings. The entry period ends Jan. 3. Online entry forms and full details can be found at ecpubliclibrary.info/events.

All artwork must be original, not previously selected by ArtsWest, and appropriate for display. Artists may submit one large piece exceeding 50 inches or two smaller pieces. Artwork will be reviewed and selected by juror Cameron Anderson. This artist, writer, and UW-Eau Claire alum from Madison holds an MFA in painting and drawing and is the current executive director of Christians in the Visual Arts.

All artists will be notified of the juror’s decision no later than Feb. 5 via snail mail. Accepted work must be delivered to the library between Feb 17-21. Whatever you draw inspiration from, find a muse and run with it to Wisconsin ArtsWest 39.
