Furlong Gallery Features Two Print Exhibits
Looking for some Wisconsin culture? Through Dec. 16, UW-Stout is presenting two printmaking exhibits at the Furlong Gallery. This can’t-miss artistic event is a two-for-one, showcasing prints from both local and national artists. In the north gallery, see “Works on Paper,” featuring prints from the Furlong Gallery’s permanent collection. The works include drawings, prints, and mixed-media creations from a wide range of artists, including Adolf Gottieb, Beverly Pepper, Lee Krasner, and Terry Frost. Adding an element of mystery, many have never been exhibited before at the Furlong. Meanwhile, the south gallery features “Time in Between,” a display of donated prints from a previously held print exchange workshop organized by alumnus Tyler Helfrich, a 2016 studio art graduate. This exhibit includes artwork from almost 30 North American artists who employ different printmaking techniques, including relief, serigraphy, and lithography. Experience the world of printmaking and enjoy different variations on this artistic medium. The hours at Furlong Gallery, which is located inside Micheels Hall, are Monday-Thursday 10am-5pm, Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 12-4pm.
