Our Taste Buds Are Ready for Restaurant Week

Tom Giffey |

A brand-new celebration will highlight the Chippewa Valley’s ever-evolving culinary scene later this year. Eau Claire's first-ever Restaurant Week, Sept. 15-24, will include special deals and unique menus at participating eateries, plus the First Taste Culinary Crawl, a ticketed event in Banbury Place. The Sept. 14 crawl – which will be anchored by the food-focused event space Forage – will feature booths from participating restaurants offering complimentary consumables to ticket-holders, as well as a cash bar, a live DJ, swag bags, and more, all of it flavored with the funky industrial vibe of Banbury Place. (Think of the First Taste Culinary Crawl as a hip, foodie cocktail party.)

After the kickoff event, the rest of Chippewa Valley Restaurant Week will feature special fixed-price options at participating restaurants, which will offer up three-course meals for $15, $25, and $35, giving diners the chance for unique experiences at affordable prices. The “week” will actually be 10 days long, providing two weekends to plan a date night (or two or three). The overall goal of Restaurant Week is to boost the Valley’s food culture and bring talented chefs out of the kitchen and into the spotlight. In addition to all the fun, a portion of the proceeds from Restaurant Week will go to a local food-based charity.
