If you love high-flying, jaw-dropping, sound-barrier-breaking aerial performances, we’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that the legendary U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be returning to Eau Claire for the Chippewa Valley Air Show. The bad news is that you’ll have to wait until 2018 to see them. If there’s a silver lining in the latter cloud, it’s that you’ve got 18 months to build anticipation before the F/A-18 squadron screams through the sky. The Chippewa Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America announced Dec. 6 that they will once again hold an air show at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport. The show will be June 16-17, 2018, and – just as they were at the last local air show in 2015 – the Blue Angels will be the headlining act. Other acts will be announced in the coming months, the Boy Scouts said. The show raises funds for the local Boy Scout council as well as other nonprofit groups that provide volunteers.
