Not So Secret Show

cozy show planned for Michael Perry and The Long Beds

The nights of September, evenings of rich late-summer, early-fall weather, are meant to be spent listening to the crooning of local artists. Pine Hollow Studios offers cozy, intimate musical experiences perfect for these times, at shows for audiences of no more than 50 people. Having seen the likes of S. Carey and Kalispell, they will welcome local author Michael Perry, joined by his band The Long Beds, on Sept. 16. Tickets for this opportunity to listen to local musicians are limited and sell quickly, but can be purchased now for $20 by emailing tickets@pinehollowaudio.com. “I aim to bring in acts that I know will sell out quick so we can provide a studio full of fans excited to see one of their favorite artists in an intimate and interesting setting,” Pine Hollow Studios owner and engineer Evan Middlesworth told us earlier this summer. “Plus the added rural setting of Pine Hollow has a laid-back vibe which puts everyone at ease.” Perry, known for his New York Times bestselling novels and his velvet-voiced monologues at the Eaux Claires festival, is also a renowned lyricist. He has penned tunes for Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Geoffrey Keezer and liner notes for a John Prine tribute album, among other accomplishments. Perry’s lyrics tells tales similar to those found in his novels, detailing a Wisconsin small town life. These words will be accompanied by the country-folk beats produced by The Long Beds, and that lulling voice of Perry’s, at 7pm in the place where tons of local records have been made, and many musicians have created bundles of joy for our ears.
