Women's Giving Circle Seeks Young Philanthropists

V1 Staff |

The Women’s Giving Circle of Eau Claire wants to expand its circle to include more young people interested in improving their community. To do so, the Women’s Giving Circle has announced the Young Philanthropist Outreach Program, which will give 100 people between the ages of 22 and 39 the opportunity to join the Women’s Giving Circle at a reduced rate. Normally, members make an annual donation of $250 to become part of the group, but for Young Philanthropists, that figure will be reduced to $150 for as long as three years. (It will rise to $250 annually after three years or when the member turns 40.) The Women’s Giving Circle is a fund of the Eau Claire Community Foundation that exists to pool members’ donations to help nonprofits that focus on issues related to women and children. Since the group’s inception in 2007, Women’s Giving Circle members have distributed more than $151,000 in grants and built an endowment of more than $250,000.
