Encore Bar Hopes to Have Audience Calling for More

Anne Sandell |

A new bar is coming to the Chippewa Valley that hopes to keep the party going for local young professionals. The new bar, called Encore, opened in the old Whiskeys location at 943 Harlem St. in Altoona over Memorial Day weekend. The establishment has a modern, clean, 1950s feel, sporting reclaimed wood and industrial steel accents. The owner, Dave Zempel, went to school in Eau Claire and is excited to be opening up a bar in town. “It’s great seeing everything come together and to be back in a town that I have a lot of roots in,” he says. “I’m ready to start talking to customers and getting involved in the community.” Encore hopes to be a bar where locals can go until late in the night that is upbeat, welcoming, and safe. The establishment will feature a loyalty happy hour seven days a week. Customers will be able to purchase a keychain that will give them access to all the deals. While the bar is geared towards the late-night crowd, they will still operate a full kitchen for dinner and lunch. So start making your plans to check out Encore.
