Ambiguously Colored Heron” by Marc Anderson
acrylic on masonite

Marc Anderson is a painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and creator of things, and his artistic nature is perpetually at odds with his life’s quest of becoming TV’s Ron Swanson.

"It is important for artists to flex different muscles – from time to time –stylistically, with mediums, and subject matter. This heron was a fun departure from the more serious illustration work I had been doing. Generally, I spend less time focused on meticulous brushwork and rendering, but the dexterity and planning involved has been beneficial to my other work. I have found a lot of joy in caricaturing birds. There is so much variety in shape, size, color, and texture that the only limit is my own creativity."  – The Artist
