Summer Camouflage” by Jessica Mongeon
Digital photograph

Jessica Mongeon is a professional artist and educator who is inspired by daily encounters with nature. She grew up on a farm in North Dakota, traveled to Montana to attend graduate school for a MFA, and moved to Wisconsin in 2014.

"The ‘Camouflage Installation’ revolves around the idea of context. I started with a series of paintings that are reminiscent of mushrooms or geodes, and installed them in a variety of natural environments. Then I documented them as if I were hiking and had come across an incredible display of natural flora. This photograph is from my summer series. The project began in August 2015 and continued through April so that I could capture the paintings during the four seasons. You can see more at www.jessicamongeon.com." – The Artist
