Eau Claire City Councilman Andrew Werthmann has his sights set on another office: He is running to be one of Wisconsin’s four representatives to the Democratic National Committee. Werthmann, who has been a council member since 2009, says he is seeking the post as a champion of “local grassroots organizing.” In a press release, he said, “Our party must lead this country into a new political chapter by bringing people together, investing in local power, and inspiring authentic issue-based campaigns.” Every four years, Wisconsin Democrats elect four representatives to the DNC, who will represent the state at national meetings and help administer the state party. The representatives will be chosen at the state Democratic convention in Green Bay in early June. To learn more, visit facebook.com/WerthmannWI.
