The place to be on April 16 is UW-Stout’s annual Fashion Without Fabric show. Students enrolled in UW-Stout’s School of Art and Design will debut their eclectic ensembles made of anything but traditional fabric. The clothing could be composed of cardboard and paper, bubble wrap and Popsicle sticks, or anything in between. The 15th annual fashion show revolves around the theme of “125 Years of Art” – UW-Stout is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year – and attendees will get to see fashion based on artistic movements from the late 19th century to the present. The show allows students to develop problem-solving skills when it comes to design, as they need to get around the issues and limitations that come with creating garments from materials that people don’t usually wear. After the show, there will be a reception where you can meet the designers and see the outfits up close while listening to live jazz. The show sells out quickly, so get your tickets now either online or at the UW-Stout student center service desk.
