UW-Stout Grad Wants You to Be a Comfy Lumberjack

Onesies aren’t just for babies anymore. In fact, the manliest of men would feel comfy in American Eagle’s Lumberjack Onesie, which was designed by UW-Stout alumna and Wisconsin native Sarah Schumacher. The full-length zip-up garment is made of plaid polar fleece and features a furry hat-shaped hood and a zipper that doubles as a bottle opener. Schumacher, who majored in apparel design and development at UW-Stout, drew inspiration from Wisconsin’s northwoods as well as the lumbersexual dudes she sees around her in New York. “There are tons of lumberjack hipsters wearing flannels and trapper hats (in Brooklyn),” she says. So basically, we humble Wisconsinites were setting fashion trends just by trying to keep warm. Before Christmas, the fashion website Refinery29.com gave a shout-out to the Lumberjack Onesie as one of the “top 30 gifts for any man in your life.” If your man needs some hip (and comfy) loungewear, the Lumberjack Onesie retails for $89.95.
