Operating behind the high-res lens of a camera, one Eau Claire man continues to capture success. Local photographer Adam Dorn took home three honors in this year’s annual Moscow International Foto Awards. But the self-taught camera man is no newbie to the trade, as the wins from this fall’s contest represent just a handful of the countless times his work has earned him prestige. Dorn has also claimed 18 international awards in addition to prizes from several local, regional, and national contests. This year, the photographer took home two third-place honors in the categories of “Nature: Landscapes” and “Nature: Panorama,” as well as a second place prize in “Nature: Seasons.” The natural world is Dorn’s greatest inspiration, so it comes as no surprise that all three of his award-winning photos fell into various categories of that focus. In fact, Dorn specializes specifically in fine art landscape photography – a behind-the-lens passion that took root in 2011 upon witnessing a magnificent sunset. Since then, the dedicated photographer continued to develop in both knowledge and talent, travelling anywhere from the Upper Midwest to Nicaragua in order to capture that perfect shot. Even today, Dorn’s primary concern is simply to zoom in on the beauty of the great outdoors.
