Step back to Fournier’s dance hall for a night in the 1960s as a benefit for the Chippewa Valley Museum. The evening will begin with a meal taken from a classic supper club menu: Beef stroganoff set on a bed of egg noodles, Waldorf salad, honey-glazed baby carrots, breadsticks, and pineapple upside-down cake with a dollop of whipped cream for dessert. Dancing, of course, will be from 5:30pm to 6:30pm with the music of Mickey Lynnes and then from 8pm to 11pm with The Thundermen. A photo slideshow of Eau Claire in the early 1960s will be shown and a silent auction items with the best of the Chippewa Valley will be held. The price of the event is $50, and includes the dinner and dancing. Dancing only is $25. Cash bar. Your best 1960s attire is encouraged. Fifteen dollars worth the ticket cost is tax-deductible. Proceeds from the celebration will support the museum’s exhibits and educational programs. If you’re interested in attending, act fast: The reservation deadline is Sept. 3.
