UW-Eau Claire’s activities commission just announced the brand new Local Aire Music Festival, a one-day concert event on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Ojibwe Ballroom in Davies Center on campus, featuring some really awesome music acts with Eau Claire ties and roots. Buzzing Eau Claire-bred indie rock band, Aero Flynn, is set to headline the festival with an impressive roster of genre-busting local openers including Sayth, Two Castles, Waldemar, D. Janakey, and Len Voy. Tickets are $10 to the general public, and $5 for UWEC students. For more info, like the page at www.facebook.com/localaire.
Instead of releasing an EP all at once, Minneapolis / Eau Claire rapper Sayth is in the middle putting out his new EP one song at a time. Body Pillow is a collaborative effort between Sayth and Eau Claire producer North House and features eclectic and moody verses, slick beats, and songs with no-caps titles like “maybe god is afraid of us?” and “a formal apology to grandma wells.” The songs have been popping up on Sayth’s Soundcloud page every Sunday afternoon at www.soundcloud.com/sayth.

Diver Ida is the musical moniker of Justin Webb, the tremendously-bearded owner of Midwest Tattoo parlor in Eau Claire. He just released his project’s first album, Fish Outta Water – an album that is a “rich sound rooted deep in the Antigo silt loam of Wisconsin.” You can currently find the album on Spotify, and Diver Ida is planning a release party at 7pm on Aug. 31 at The Stones Throw.
