UW-Stout Showcases Work at Furlong Gallery

Alex Tronson |

As a college student, it’s important to know a bit about your professors, their motivations and what influences them. The 2015 UW-Stout School of Art and Design Faculty Art Show can help you help with that. The show runs through Feb. 20 and features close to 30 works by 45 different faculty members. Lining the walls of the Furlong Gallery, are the works of Jennifer Astwood, Lynn Batchelder, Nathan Clark, Bert Fraher, Vadim Gershman, Kimberly Loken-Long, Kelly O’Brien, Kevin Pontuti, Jason Quick, Nagesh Shinde, Nicole Simpkins, Kari Tarr, Joseph Velazquez and Joshua Wilichowski. The show opened with a reception on Jan. 28 with a healthy selection of media including, painting, ceramics, photography, video, and a even bit of metal-smithing. There’s probably an extra credit opportunity tucked away somewhere too.

Venue hours are: Mondays–Thursdays, 10am-5pm, Fridays, 10am-2pm, Saturdays 12pm-4pm. The gallery is closed on Sundays. Visit www.uwstout.edu/furlonggallery for more information.
