Adelyn Rose Strikes Off on Tour, Exclusive EP in Hand

Don’t think of it as a test run, but folk-rockers Adelyn Rose are just getting back from a three-week East Coast tour (with pals Softly, Dear) where they’ve been pedaling a secret little EP, exclusively available at live shows. Titled Summering, the seven-track EP was home-recorded, the majority of songs brand new – as in recorded within the last month or thereabouts. It has dual intentions though: Firstly, it’s something new to sell on tour, and secondly, the bones of these songs will eventually build out a future full-length record alongside some yet-to-be-written tracks. Not quite a side-step, Summering mixes Adelyn Rose’s familiar folk with some of the band’s most ambitious intermittant ambience to date. You can add to that a snowy, new video for “Riot” – an Ordinary Fantasy standout shot by Jesse Johnson that’s equal parts chilly and trippy, and you’ll see how this band is making the most of their time away from home. Check out a single from Summering, “Two Step,” at adelynrose.bandcamp.com.
