“Little Ballerinas” by Jim Jarvise
 photograph, June 8, 2012

Jim Jarvise owns Morning Light Photography and strives to portray the artistic beauty of subjects ranging from portraits to dramatic landscapes. He specializes in dance, show choir, and event photography.

“This photograph was taken during a dance rehearsal of En Avant School of Dance in June of 2012. The young dancers, so elegantly costumed in their blue gowns, had formed an outside-facing circle and were holding hands on stage when there was a pause in the rehearsal. The wonderful contrast between the elegance of the gowns and dance formation with the tangle of little girl feet and untied shoes caught my eye, allowing me to get this photograph. By placing my lens on the floor I was also able to capture their amazing reflections.  I am fortunate to be the photographer for several dance events in the area. I also enjoy portrait, fashion, and landscape photography.”  – The Artist
