Lunchtime in the Gallery

Katie Bast |

The Furlong Gallery at UW-Stout has launched “Middle Mondays,” an ongoing series of speeches that complement artwork in the gallery. Each Monday at lunchtime the gallery will feature a speaker whose work is in one of the shows currently on display in the gallery. They will speak about their work from 12:30-1:15pm. People are welcome to bring their lunch to eat as they listen to the presentation. (The Furlong provides tea and coffee.) Art faculty, students, community members, and administrators are encouraged to attend. Upcoming presenters include sculptor Kelly O’Brien on Feb. 10 (in conjunction with “The School of Art and Design Faculty Show ‘14”); graphic novelist and designer Erik Evensen on Feb. 17 (in conjunction with the faculty show); architect and designer  Kimberly Long Loken on Feb. 24 (in conjunction with “Exhibit Design for the Red Star Line Museum: a Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration”); graphic designer Vadim Gershman on March 3 (in conjunction with the faculty show); and ceramicist Sean Larsen on March 10 (in conjunction with the faculty show).
