Eau Claire-based film and video production company Down The Rabbit Hole Films is finally ready to release Fedora, a feature-length, independent film. Fedora is a black-and-white film noir that features all local actors and musicians, and it was filmed locally as well (keep your eyes peeled for Eau Claire locales such as The House of Rock). It follows the story of two men: The first is a bartender (Josh Hammes-Murray, a local stage veteran) who wants to become a musician. The other is Fedora (Lance Harris, who’s acted in several independent films and played bass for metal band No Loving Place), a sociopath who is obsessed with becoming a mafia hit man. When Fedora enters the small-town bar for a drink, it becomes clear that the two men are on a collision course with one another. They both seek respect and are both willing to do different things to get it, things that will only end in tragedy. Fedora has been a long time coming: Blake Hamilton started the production company in 2010 in order to assist in the film’s production. Because it is so tied to the Eau Claire area, Fedora is being released in Eau Claire before anywhere else, so this is the best opportunity to support your neighbors and the video production community of Eau Claire – not to mention enjoy some hard-boiled cinema.

Fedora film premiere • 5 and 11pm Jan 24, 11pm Jan. 25 • Micon Downtown Cinema, 315 S. Barstow St., Eau Claire • $4 for 5pm showing, $8 for 11pm • www.facebook.com/downtherabbitholefilms • (215) 823-0041
